Dear Amnesty supporter,

On 28 April, Jishamol, a 30-year-old Dalit law student, was found dead in her home by her mother in Vattalipodi, Kerala.

An autopsy found 38 wounds and signs of rape on her body; her intestines had been partially removed. An FIR was registered with the police but they still haven’t provided a copy of the FIR with the family, which is against the law.

No arrests have been made yet.

Amnesty International India has a copy of a complaint submitted in 2014 which states that the neighbours harassed and threatened the family. This is just one of the complaints that was neglected by the local police.

TAKE ACTION by telling the incoming Home Minister of Kerala to ensure an independent investigation into alleged police inaction related to Jisha’s rape and brutal murder.

Sign the petition to demand Justice for Jisha and tell us why you signed it on Twitter.

Ask others to show their solidarity today by posting about it on Facebook.

Thanks for your support!
